Season 1, Episode 2: "A Sheep in Wolf's Clothing"

Captain's Log: Stardate 57184.0. The Intrepid has been recalled to Deep Space 19, following a number of attacks on them by the resurgent Maquis. They have taken damage and some casualties, including their station Commander. The Maquis have been using the Federation's newly-developed Transwarp Conduit System to make their attacks. My "brother," Vulcan Ambassador Q'in, was able to convince Starfleet to change the command codes to the Conduit Systems, effectively stranding the Maquis at various possible points in the Quadrant. DS19 has received a possible Maquis signature from one of these potential places.

Captain Q'in ordered Lieutenant Kylara Stark to head through the Transwarp Conduit at maximum speed. When they arrived at the other end, they saw not a Maquis ship, but an antiquated Klingon D-7 Cruiser.

The Intrepid hailed the Klingon vessel, which appeared to be in distress. The Klingon Captain refused help, but her ship began to tear apart. Q'in ordered any survivors to be transported to the Intrepid. Unfortunately, only the captain could be saved.

The Klingon seemed stand-offish to Q'in and his crew. In the Conference Room, the Klingon pulled a disruptor, and attempted to hijack the ship, demanding the Command Codes of the Intrepid.

Lieutenent Tom Hightower snuck away to Engineering during the confusion, where he transferred all control of the ship to his consoles.

Back on the Bridge, Captain Q'in made a show of transferring control of the ship to the Klingon Captain. When her first order to the computer was refused, she turned to look at Lt. Commander Giffen, allowing Captain Q'in to give her the Vulcan Nerve Pinch, immobilizing the agitated Klingon.

In the Brig, the Klingon came to, and told the Captain that he should have killed her, and that not allowing her to die had tarnished her honor, disgracing her. Q'in responded by saying that her actions today were highly dishonorable. She said she would still die a warrior's death, as many more Maquis ships were on their way to this sector, and that Intrepid would be destroyed by them.

Q'in ordered Intrepid back through the Transwarp Conduit, which the Maquis could not follow them through. Arriving at Deep Space 19, the Klingon Maquis Captain was taken into custody.

Season 1, Episode 1: "Where the Heart Is"

Captain’s Log: Stardate 57143.8.  This is my first voyage on the USS Intrepid. For over a decade, this ship has served Starfleet with distinction, and our mission is to continue Starfleet’s mandate to seek out new life and new civilizations. The Intrepid has an entirely new crew, and our first orders are to keep the peace as The Romulans have ordered a group of Bajoran settlers to relocate from a planet in disputed territory.

USS Intrepid leaving Deep Space 19, heading for the Sivara colony.

Captain Q'in takes his seat, then orders the Intrepid to clear all moorings and head out.

En route to their first mission, they are interrupted by a Romulan D'Deridex-Class Warbird. It's captain hails them...

Romulan Commander: Federation ship, this system has been claimed as part of the Romulan Star Empire. If you do not return to Federation space, we will consider it an act of war.

Captain Q'in: We are here to oversee the removal of the Bajoran colonists on the fourth planet.

Romulan Commander: Very well, we will escort you to the colony.

Romulan Warbird

The Warbird follows Intrepid to the colony, which they hail, only to have the following response.

Bajoran Official: This is Vera Syvar. We know why you are here. And we will not comply.

Captain Q'in: What do you mean?

Vera Syvar: We began our settlement here after the Dominion War. It has been our home ever since. It is only after the incident with Praetor Shinzon that the Romulans have claimed this area. We will not leave our homes.

The Bajorans break the transmission. The Romulan Commander then makes a decision...

Romulan Commander: We heard everything, Intrepid. Their refusal to leave gives us no other choice. We must destroy the intruders.

The Warbird begins firing on the colony. Captain Q'in orders Lt. Snapper Desade to place Intrepid between the Romulans and their target. As Intrepid rocks from the barrage of fire, Commander William Kirk targets the Romulans' weapons and fires all weapons, disabling the Warbird, which cloaks.

Intrepid in heated battle with the Romulans.

Before the battle can continue, the Bajoran colony hails both ships.

Vera Syvar: Intrepid, please, hold your fire!

Captain Q'in: Romulan Commander, cease hostilities. We are receiving a transmission from the Bajorans.

Vera Syvar: Captain Q’in, we have come to a decision. I just had a vision from the Prophets. In this vision, I saw us stay, and I saw much bloodshed due to that decision. Not just the Intrepid, but many ships. Thousands of souls, screaming in the void. I do not wish this outcome. This is just a planet. There are many others out there. We can rebuild.

Romulan Commander: Bajoran. How long will your relocation take?

Vera Syvar: About a month.

Romulan Commander: You have two weeks to remove your people. That is all.

Captain Q'in: Vera, can this be done?

Vera Syvar: Anything can be done, Captain. We just have to put our minds to it.

Captain Q'in: Very well, We will stay in orbit as long as it takes to evacuate the colony. Intrepid out.

Back Row: Dr. Melody Draconiss, Lt. Snapper Desade Seated: Captain Q'in, Cmdr William Kirk

The Intrepid has stayed in the Sivara system, and has seen to the evacuation of the colony.

On to the next mission...

Pre-Launch

Captain's Log, Stardate 57140.4:
Captain Q'in, USS Intrepid

I have taken command of this vessel, and will be selecting a senior staff soon. We shall launch for our first mission shortly.

This ship launched nearly twelve years ago, in 2369 under the command of Captain Terrance Riley. He and the first crew of the Intrepid acquitted themselves nicely during the Dominion War.

The second commander of Intrepid was Captain Walter Emick, from 2374 until I received my orders last month.

Our mission, as with many ships before this, is to explore the galaxy, make contact with new life forms and their civilizations, and in the words of Zefram Cochrane, "to boldly go where no one has gone before."
